The Annual Summer Barbecue of the Ludlow Lodges, Craft Royal, Arch, Mark and Mariners
was yet another resounding success. With only one Lodge of each of these Order of Masonry
based at Brand Lane in Ludlow the idea was conceived many years ago to hold joint Fund
Raising functions for the benefit of the Masonic Charities and for local projects which the local
Lodges wished to support.

Now in its 17 th year, over £1000 pounds was donated to Severn Hospice from the Worshipful
Masters Charity for 2015 and £500 was presented to VW Bro Mike Heenan DPrGM of the Mark
Province of Staffordshire and Shropshire for the Hope for Tomorrow campaign being the
principal project for the forthcoming 150 year celebrations of the Mark Benevolent Fund.
The Provincial Grand Master for Shropshire, RW Peter Taylor and the Deputy Grand
Superintendent, E.Comp John Williamson were among the many masons and guests from all
over Shropshire and Staffordshire present to enjoy the splendid food, fellowship and even some
summer sunshine which exhibited the best of what can be achieved when the various orders
work together.
